A head-on collision is more likely than other types of car accidents to result in fatal injuries. Head-on collisions are among the deadliest with a fatality rate of over 58%. Despite accounting for less than 2% of all reported traffic accidents, they are responsible for more than 10% of all annual road fatalities. The most common cause of these collisions is careless or distracted drivers swerving into opposing lanes of traffic.
