Grand Rapids, MI (December 18, 2021) - Officers with the Michigan State Police responded to the scene of a 15-vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 12. Authorities stated that it happened on US-131 for reasons still being investigated.

The incident occurred near Wealthy Street when one vehicle lost control on the roadway and the others were traveling too quickly to respond. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the incident, however, the total number of injured parties is currently unknown.

Police wish to remind drivers to slow down and allow more distance between vehicles when the roadways are slippery. US-131 was closed for a prolonged period of time on the 12th for cleanup but has since reopened.

Authorities in Grand Rapids continue to investigate. Our thoughts are with the involved parties in hopes of a speedy recovery.

Car Crash Lawyers in Grand Rapids

Contacting an attorney as soon as you can after an accident is always in your best interest if you or a loved one have sustained injuries due to another person's negligence. The majority of the motor vehicle collisions that happen are caused by negligent drivers, and if your crash wasn’t your fault, it may have been someone else’s. A Grand Rapids car accident lawyer may be able to help you move forward and cover the cost of medical care, vehicle repairs, and even compensate you for things like pain and suffering and emotional turmoil. Unfortunately, insurance companies often attempt to get injured accident victims to settle for little to no financial compensation after they have suffered physically and emotionally, not to mention financially. A lawyer can help prevent that from happening to you.
