Oxford Township, MI (December 1, 2021) - A multi-car accident at an intersection in Oxford Township resulted in injuries on Monday, November 22. One person required hospitalization as a result of the crash, according to reports.
Two vehicles were involved including a Mercury sedan driven by an Oxford woman, aged 62, and a Toyota SUV driven by another Oxford woman, aged 45. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported that one of the vehicles ran a red light headed east on Market Street near M-24 and, as a result, collided with the other.
Firefighters were able to remove the driver of the sedan without using the Jaws of Life, sources said. However, the driver still required immediate transportation to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The intersection of Market Street and M-24 is known for being the site of numerous accidents, police said. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim. Nothing further has been reported concerning the circumstances of the crash.
Victims who sustain serious injuries in car accidents know the terrifying reality of these incidents. Being involved in a severe wreck can be extremely scary and overwhelming. Additionally, it can cost a fortune and take a lot of time to recover from an event of this nature. This is especially true if the injuries were so severe that they require hospitalization and maybe even surgery. An accident can occur in a single moment, but the aftermath will affect some victims for the rest of their lives.
Sadly, insurance companies are known for pressuring injured victims to make hurried and poorly thought out decisions. This is because they often target injured parties in their most vulnerable state, usually when they are dealing with the most stressful time of their accident aftermath. They push victims to make choices that will not provide them with the financial, physical, and emotional support and compensation that they need. They do this in order to close out cases as quickly and cheaply as possible.
