Scio Township, MI (November 19, 2021) - Two people suffered serious injuries after an auto accident on an interstate in Scio Township. Police said the incident happened just after 9:00 a.m. on November 17 for reasons still being investigated.
Preliminary reports reveal that the crash occurred on westbound I-94 near Baker Road in Washtenaw County, just west of Ann Arbor. A photo of the crash scene provided by Michigan State Police shows a vehicle flipped over on the side of the interstate.
Two people were reportedly in the car at the time of the wreck, both of whom were transported from the scene with injuries. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries, sources said.
Traffic was delayed in the vicinity of the crash site for an extended time period on the morning of the 17th while crews worked to investigate the circumstances of the crash and assist injured parties. Local drivers were asked to avoid the area for the time being.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation by local officials at this time. Nothing further has currently been reported.
