Gaines Township, MI (April 15, 2025) – A tragic collision took place Sunday evening, April 13, in Gaines Township, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Kalamazoo Avenue Southeast, just north of 100th Street, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man from Allendale, was traveling north on Kalamazoo Avenue when he collided with a northbound minivan. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and attempted to aid the motorcyclist, but he died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released. The driver of the minivan, a 41-year-old woman from Caledonia, sustained minor injuries. She was treated at the scene. Authorities stated that the Kent County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
