Green Oak Twp., MI - High-Speed Crash on Rickett Rd Kills One

Green Oak Township, MI (April 11, 2025) – A violent two-vehicle crash in Livingston County claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman on the afternoon of April 8. Green Oak Township police were dispatched to the intersection of Rickett Road and Maltby Road just after 4:00 p.m. following reports of a serious collision.

When officers arrived, they discovered that both drivers and a passenger were trapped in their vehicles. Emergency responders rushed to free the victims, but tragically, the driver of one vehicle died at the scene from her injuries.

Investigators say an 81-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a silver Jeep traveling at high speeds prior to the crash. Witnesses confirmed seeing the vehicle driving erratically before it collided with a blue GMC Terrain. The Terrain’s driver, a Howell resident, was killed in the crash.

A 50-year-old passenger in the GMC suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The Jeep driver was also seriously injured and transported for emergency care. Green Oak Township police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
