Buena Vista Twp., MI (April 1, 2025) - A 21-year-old man from Au Train lost his life in a hit-and-run crash during the early morning hours of March 31 in Buena Vista Township. According to local authorities, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. along Michigan 13 near the Zilwaukee Bridge.
The victim was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, leaving him with fatal injuries. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and confirmed the young man had died as a result of the collision. His identity has not been publicly released, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators recovered vehicle part fragments from the site and have narrowed the search to a 2010 to 2015 Chevrolet Equinox or GMC Terrain.
