Car Accidents in Michigan

Saginaw, MI – Injury Crash Reported at Madison St and Carolina StMotor vehicle accidents involving high-speed maneuvers or law enforcement engagement can have serious, often life-threatening consequences. In Michigan alone, more than 1,000 lives were lost in vehicle crashes in 2022, according to state data. Even more were left with long-lasting injuries.

When it comes to crashes at high speeds, certain injury risks become far more likely:

  • Spinal Cord Damage: Sudden, forceful impacts can severely injure the spinal cord, potentially causing paralysis or long-term mobility issues. These injuries can require intensive medical care and ongoing physical therapy.
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI): When a vehicle rolls or impacts at high speed, occupants are at significant risk for brain injuries—even with airbags. TBIs can lead to memory loss, impaired motor function, or changes in personality.
  • Lacerations and Internal Bleeding: Glass shards, debris, and forceful impact may result in deep cuts or internal bleeding. These injuries can be life-threatening and might not be immediately visible at the crash scene.
  • Burn Injuries: In high-speed crashes, the risk of fire increases. Burn injuries often require specialized treatment, skin grafts, and months of rehabilitation, and they may leave lasting physical and emotional scars.
  • Multiple Fractures: Crashes involving rollovers or ejections can cause several broken bones at once. This can complicate recovery, especially for older adults or those with existing health conditions.
