Car Accidents in Michigan

Flint Township, MI – One Injured in Crash Near U-Haul on Miller RdMichigan sees thousands of vehicle accidents each year. In fact, state records show nearly 300,000 reported collisions annually. These incidents can leave victims dealing with long-term injuries and financial strain, even if the crash wasn’t severe at first glance.

When it comes to car accidents, it’s important to recognize how varied the causes can be. One such cause involves driver behavior, which plays a major role in many wrecks across the state:

  • Distracted Driving: Drivers who text, eat, or use in-vehicle technology while operating a vehicle can miss crucial moments on the road. A few seconds of distraction is all it takes to cause a serious crash. These cases are especially tragic because they’re almost always preventable.
  • Speeding: Traveling above the posted speed limit greatly increases the risk of losing control or being unable to react to other vehicles. Speed-related crashes often lead to more serious injuries due to the force of impact.
  • Impaired Driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs continues to be a major concern. Impaired drivers may have delayed reaction times and poor judgment, putting themselves and others at serious risk.
  • Driver Fatigue: Tired drivers are often just as dangerous as those driving impaired. Falling asleep at the wheel or experiencing micro-sleeps can lead to catastrophic head-on collisions or veering off the road unexpectedly.
  • Aggressive Driving: Tailgating, frequent lane changes, and road rage are all signs of aggressive driving. These behaviors increase the chance of a crash, especially in high-traffic or urban areas.
