Mount Pleasant, MI (December 19, 2024) – A head-on collision near Central Michigan University on Tuesday afternoon, December 17, claimed the lives of both drivers and left a passenger hospitalized.
The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Broomfield Street east of Mission Street. Authorities reported that a 51-year-old Mount Pleasant man and a 43-year-old Elwell man were driving the two vehicles involved. A 75-year-old Mount Pleasant man, a passenger in one of the cars, was critically injured and transported to a hospital. The drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that one of the vehicles crossed the center line, leading to the fatal crash. Officials are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
