Kalamazoo, MI (November 24, 2024) – An accident involving an Amtrak train claimed the life of a pedestrian near downtown Kalamazoo on Saturday, November 23.
The incident occurred at 12:31 p.m. near W. Main Street and the Elm Crossover, according to a public information officer for the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS). No injuries were reported among passengers or crew aboard the train. KDPS officers responded to the scene, closing the one-way street to traffic. The case will be transferred to Amtrak police, who will handle the ongoing investigation and provide further updates as they become available.
