Six Lakes, MI (November 23, 2024) – A fatal accident occurred early Friday morning involving a deer and a pickup truck, according to Michigan State Police.
Authorities reported that a 30-year-old man from Remus was driving a Dodge Ram westbound on M-46 near Hillman Road in Six Lakes, a community southwest of Mount Pleasant, when his vehicle struck a deer at approximately 5:19 a.m. on November 22. The impact caused the truck to veer into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Impala.
The driver of the Impala, a 44-year-old man from Morley, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge Ram driver sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident remains under investigation by police.
