Saginaw, MI (November 14, 2024) – Tri-City Post Troopers are investigating a tragic crash on southbound I-75 near Baker Road (mile marker 146) that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Saginaw man. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on November 12.
An 80-year-old Bay City man, driving a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck, collided with two vehicles and struck the 22-year-old man, who was on the shoulder helping a friend change a flat tire. The young man was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
The 80-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the MSP Aviation, Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Buena Vista Police Department, the Bridgeport Fire and Police Departments, and MMR. The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
