Car Accidents in Michigan

Detroit, MI – Hit-&-Run Crash at W Davison & Rosa Parks BlvdEvery day, motor vehicle accidents happen across Michigan, resulting in serious injuries to many people. Victims often face significant challenges, such as needing weeks away from work and undergoing extensive medical treatment to recover. Sadly, these accidents frequently lead to severe injuries like spinal cord fractures, broken bones, and deep cuts or lacerations.

The unfortunate reality is that many of these accidents could have been prevented. Common causes of car crashes in our state include:

  • Speeding: Exceeding the speed limit reduces a driver’s control and increases stopping distances, leading to dangerous situations.
  • Distracted Driving: Using cell phones, adjusting the radio, or other distractions can cause drivers to lose focus and make poor decisions on the road.
  • Weather Conditions: Snow, rain, ice, and fog are common in Michigan and can make driving more hazardous if drivers do not adjust their speed and caution accordingly.
  • Reckless Driving: Aggressive behaviors like tailgating, weaving through traffic, or disregarding road rules often lead to collisions.
  • Running Red Lights or Stop Signs: Ignoring traffic signals is a frequent cause of severe intersection accidents.
  • Drunk Driving: Operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a major cause of preventable accidents and injuries.

Dealing with the aftermath of a car accident can be overwhelming. Victims must handle medical bills, recovery, and sometimes uncooperative insurance companies, all while dealing with the physical and emotional pain of their injuries.
