Every year, more than 55,000 people in Michigan are injured in car accidents. Many of these victims suffer painful injuries that require emergency medical attention right after the crash. Unfortunately, the majority of these accidents are caused by careless or reckless actions by other drivers. Far too often, we see accidents happen because someone is speeding, distracted by their phone, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or engaging in other dangerous behaviors behind the wheel.
The injuries that result from these crashes can be life-changing. We often see innocent people suffer from serious conditions like spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, or internal organ damage. These kinds of injuries usually need immediate and ongoing medical treatment, therapy, and rehabilitation, which can take months or even years. This lengthy recovery process can put a huge emotional and financial strain on victims and their families.
