Car Accidents in Michigan

Saginaw, MI – Auto Wreck with Injuries at Elm St & Marquette StEvery day, motor vehicle accidents happen across Michigan, leaving many people with serious injuries. It is common for victims to be so severely hurt that they need to take several weeks off work to recover while undergoing medical treatment. Unfortunately, many car accident victims suffer from spinal cord fractures, broken bones, and deep cuts or lacerations. Far too often, these accidents are preventable with the right awareness and precautions. Understanding the common causes of vehicle crashes can significantly reduce the risk. In Michigan, some of the most frequent contributors to these accidents include:

  • Speeding: Drivers often exceed the speed limit, which reduces their reaction time and increases the severity of crashes.
  • Distracted driving: Whether it's texting, talking on the phone, or adjusting the radio, distractions take attention away from the road, leading to dangerous situations.
  • Bad weather conditions: Rain, snow, and ice can make roads slippery and visibility poor, contributing to accidents if drivers don't adjust their speed and driving habits accordingly.
  • Reckless driving: Aggressive maneuvers, such as tailgating and weaving through traffic, can lead to serious collisions.
  • Running red lights or stop signs: Ignoring traffic signals puts everyone at risk, as it often results in T-bone accidents at intersections.
  • Drunk driving: Operating a vehicle under the influence impairs judgment and reaction times, making it one of the most hazardous behaviors on the road.
