Macomb, MI – Car Accident on I-696 near Mound Rd

Macomb, MI (August 17, 2024) – Emergency officials were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a motor vehicle accident that sent an unknown number of people to area hospitals with injuries.

At around 11:45 p.m. on August 15, a motor vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound side of Interstate 696. Authorities arrived at the scene of the collision and located the involved vehicles blocking multiple lanes of the roadway just east of Mount Road. Police and firefighters to shut down the roadway while moving the involved vehicles. Emergency medical services were called to the scene to care for at least one person who was injured as a result of this accident. The injured party was transported to an area hospital for further medical care. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.
