Berrien County, MI (August 3, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that a 28-year-old man lost his life as a result of the train accident that took place in Berrien County. Authorities were called to the scene of the collision on Wednesday, July 31.
Official reports show that for unknown reasons, a train traveling northbound in the 5300 block of St. Joseph Avenue collided with a vehicle. No crossing arms or other traffic control devices were located at the location. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 20-year-old man, was severely hurt. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
