East Grand Rapids, MI (May 23, 2024) – A major workplace accident reported in East Grand Rapids claimed one person’s life. The incident occurred on Monday, May 20.
According to official reports, a 46-year-old carpenter and multiple other employees were working on a dormer located on a roof during a job that they were performing in the area. For unknown reasons, the worker fell while trying to remove a tarp from the structure. The victim landed on the concrete below, suffering fatal injuries. The East Grand Rapids Department of Public Safety responded to the scene to assist. The victim was pronounced deceased immediately at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
