Portage, MI – Man Killed, Woman Injured in Crash on Oakland Dr

Portage, MI (April 22, 2024) – A fatal car accident in Michigan yesterday claimed one man’s life. The incident was reported at around 1:20 p.m. on April 21.

According to reports from local news sources, a motorcycle and an SUV collided on Oakland Drive near Ridgefield Avenue during the afternoon hours. Preliminary investigations found that a 77-year-old woman was driving a Toyota SUV north on Oakland Drive. As she attempted to make a left turn at the intersection, her vehicle collided with a Suzuki sport motorcycle, which was driven by a 21-year-old man. The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. The woman driving the SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The accident is being investigated.
