Oakland, MI – MSP called to Accident on I-696 near Orchard Lake Rd

Oakland, MI (April 21, 2024) – The Michigan State Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday morning in Oakland. The accident took place at approximately 6:55 a.m. on April 19.

According to reports, the westbound side of Interstate 696 was blocked near Orchard Lake Road due to a vehicle collision. The incident caused stop-and-go traffic, which extended from Exit 5 to Exit 8. Emergency officials remained at the scene extensively as they worked to remove the involved vehicles and clear the road. Medical personnel tended to the injured victims on site before transporting them to local hospitals. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
