Cheboygan Co., MI (April 17, 2024) – The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that a young child lost their life as a result of a drowning incident that occurred in the Wolverine area. The authorities were called to the scene at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
According to official reports, a missing child was reported in the area during the afternoon hours. Authorities arrived at Lumberjack Park and discovered a four-year-old boy unresponsive in the river. The child was pulled from the water, and first responders administered CPR to the victim. Despite medical evidence, the young child passed away from his injuries after arriving at Otsego Memorial Hospital. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
