A motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday morning sent an unknown number of people to area hospitals with injuries. The incident occurred at around 9:55 a.m. on April 13.
According to official reports, a Hyundai Sonata and a bread truck collided on Lafayette Avenue near Broadway Street. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the involved vehicles blocking the road. Police and firefighters immediately secured a portion of the roadway to prevent further damage to the involved vehicles. Emergency medical services briefly treated the injured victims on site. Those who required further medical care were transported to local hospitals. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
