Oakland, MI – Accident reported on I-696 near M-10

\Oakland, MI (April 12, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Oakland area left at least one person injured. The incident occurred at around 10:55 a.m. on April 12.

According to official reports, a motor vehicle accident occurred inside of a construction zone on Interstate 696 westbound. The incident prompted authorities to secure a portion of the roadway near Michigan 10, causing delays in traffic that extended back to Southfield Road. Emergency crews remained at the scene extensively while providing assistance. Medical personnel provided treatment to injured victims on-site. Those who required further medical care were transported to local hospitals. The police department is currently investigating.
