Oakland, MI –  Accident Reported on I-696 near Drake Rd

Oakland, MI (March 30, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident was reported in the Oakland area that sent at least one person to an area hospital with injuries. The accident occurred at around 4:35 p.m. on March 29.

According to reports from the Michigan Department of Transportation, the right lane of travel was blocked on Interstate 696 eastbound near Drake Road. The incident resulted in stop-and-go traffic, which extended from Drake Road back to Exit 1. The Michigan state police and firefighters remained at the scene extensively while assisting.
