Alpena Twp., MI – Two Killed in US-23 Crash at N Partridge Point Rd

Alpena Twp., MI (March 13, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in Alpena Township claimed the lives of two victims. The incident was reported to law enforcement at around 7:50 p.m. on March 11.

According to the Michigan State police reports, a 2000 Ford Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was driven by a 21-year-old man from Harrisville, Michigan, was heading south on US Highway 23. At the same time, a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling northbound on the same roadway. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided in the area near North Partridge Point Road. The involved vehicles came to rest, blocking multiple lanes of the roadway between North Partridge Point Road and South Partridge Point Road.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and immediately secured the roadway. A passenger in the Dodge, identified as a 19-year-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the avalanche was extricated from his vehicle and rushed to an area hospital, where he passed away from his injuries. The driver of the Ram and one additional passenger both sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The incident is being investigated.
