Detroit, MI (March 6, 2024) – The Michigan Department of Transportation informed police and firefighters at approximately 4:54 p.m. on March 5 that they were needed at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Detroit area.
According to official reports, an automobile accident blocked both directions of Interstate 696 near the ramp to Interstate 75 North. Authorities remained at the scene for a significant amount of time as they worked to remove the involved vehicles from the scene of the crash. At least one of the people sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Victims were treated at the scene and transported to area hospitals for further care. The Michigan State Police are currently investigating the accident.
