Warren, MI – MDOT Responds to Injury Accident on I-696 at Mound Rd

Warren, MI (February 29, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of an automobile accident in Macomb County that ended in injuries. Authorities were informed of the collision at around 10:25 a.m. on February 28.

Preliminary investigations show that the eastbound side of Interstate 696 was blocked at the intersection of Mound Road due to a vehicle collision that occurred on the roadway. Authorities responded to the scene and located the damaged vehicles blocking the right lane and right center lane of travel. Medical personnel immediately went to work on providing treatment to victims who were injured as a result of the crash. Injured victims who required further medical attention were transported to local hospitals. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by law enforcement.
