Grand Rapids, MI – Injury Crash Reported on US-131 after Burton St

Grand Rapids, MI (February 26, 2024) – The Michigan Department of Transportation informed police and firefighters out of Kent County that they were needed at the scene of an automobile accident that occurred during the early morning hours on Sunday, February 25. The accident occurred at around 1:05 a.m.

According to law enforcement reports, vehicles collided on the southbound side of US Highway 131. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the damaged vehicles on the right lane of travel near Burton Street. The incident prompted authorities to secure the roadway as they worked to remove debris and damaged vehicles from the scene. At least one person was injured in the accident and had to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where they underwent further treatment and evaluation. The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated by the Michigan State Police.
