Grand Rapids, MI – I-96 Crash Reported near M-37 Ends in Injuries

Grand Rapids, MI (February 26, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday evening in Grand Rapids. The Michigan Department of Transportation informed the police and firefighters of the accident at around 5:45 p.m. on February 24.

According to law enforcement, a motor vehicle accident occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 96. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near Michigan 37. Authorities reported extensive delays in the area as emergency crews provided assistance. At least one semi-truck tractor-trailer was involved in the accident. Medical personnel responded to the scene of the accident to care for injured parties. Those who required further medical attention were transported to area hospitals. At this time, the police department is investigating.
