Ionia Twp., MI – Fatal Crash on Riverside Dr near Bugbee Rd

Ionia Twp., MI (January 22, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Ionia Township on Saturday morning claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on January 20.

According to reports provided by the Ionia County Sheriff’s office, an SUV was traveling on Riverside Drive when he became involved in a collision in the area near Bugbee Road. As a result of the crash, the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained severe damage due to the accident. One person involved in the accident, identified as a 27-year-old man from Lyons, Michigan, was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene. A 30-year-old woman from Lyons, Michigan, was injured. She was rushed to an area hospital and admitted with internal injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
