Oakland, MI – Injuries Follow Auto Wreck on I-696 near Orchard Lake Rd

Oakland, MI (January 21, 2024) – The Michigan State Police responded to the scene of an accident that took place in Oakland and ended in injuries. The crash was reported by authorities at around 5:15 p.m. on January 20. According to local law enforcement, an automobile accident occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 696.

The incident blocked multiple lanes in the area near Orchard Lake Road. Delays in traffic were reported near Exit 5 as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. Emergency medical services were summoned to the crash site to care for the injured victims and to transport those in need of further medical care to local hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
