Ewen, MI – Teen Killed in Head-On Collision on M-28

Ewen, MI (January 20, 2024) - A teenager lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday evening in Ontonagon County. The accident was reported at around 8:35 p.m. on January 18.

Reports from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department indicate that a head-on collision involving a semi-truck tractor-trailer and one additional vehicle took place on Michigan 28 during the evening hours. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and immediately shut down the roadway with the assistance of medical personnel. Multiple law enforcement agencies from across the region responded to help. A 17-year-old female involved in the accident was treated at the scene for her injuries. However, she ended up passing away as a result of the injuries she suffered in the crash. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
