Detroit, MI (January 17, 2024) – Multiple law enforcement officers were summoned to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that occurred in Wayne County on Tuesday morning, January 16.
Reports from the Michigan Department of Transportation indicate that at approximately 9:20 a.m., the two left lanes of travel on the northbound side of the Southfield Freeway were blocked near Oakwood Boulevard as a result of an automobile accident involving an undisclosed number of vehicles. Medical personnel responded to the site of the collision to care for the victims. At least one person was transported to a local hospital, where they underwent further medical care for the injuries they suffered. The state police and firefighters remained at the scene for an extended period of as they worked to reopen the road. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
