Canton, MI (January 14, 2024) – A 43-year-old man lost his life as a result of a pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday evening in Canton. At around 10:40 p.m. on January 10, emergency officials were called to provide assistance at the scene of an accident on Michigan Avenue.
According to official reports, a man from Van Buren was struck by a vehicle on Michigan Avenue in the area near Interstate 275 during the evening hours. The pedestrian was severely hurt in the crash. Authorities arrived at the scene to care for the victim. Despite medical efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased from his injuries. The vehicle involved in the accident, a black Toyota Camry, fled the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
