Muskegon, MI (January 12, 2024) – Area law enforcement reported that a motor vehicle accident took place in Muskegon County. The West Michigan Transportation Operations Center notified law enforcement at approximately 4:56 p.m. on January 11 that they were needed at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 31.

Michigan Department of Transportation reports show that a collision blocked the northbound side of the highway. The incident prompted the police and local firefighters to shut down the right lane of travel near Sherman Boulevard as they worked to remove the involved vehicles from the scene. At least one person sustained injuries due to the crash. Medical personnel responded to treat the injured victims. Those who required further medical attention were transported to local hospitals. The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation.
