Oceana Co., MI (January 8, 2024) – A major automobile accident reported in Oceana County on Friday claimed one person’s life. The accident was reported by law enforcement at around 6:30 p.m. on January 5.

According to reports provided by the Michigan State Police, two Amish teenagers on bicycles were struck by an SUV, which was driven by a 35-year-old woman, on Skeels Road, just west of 192^nd Avenue. Both of the teens were severely injured as a result of the crash. A 15-year-old female was pronounced deceased on site as a result of her injuries. A 17-year-old male was seriously injured. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated by law enforcement.
