Chesterfield, MI (January 6, 2024) – Officers with the Chesterfield Police Department responded to the scene of an officer-involved automobile accident that took place on Friday afternoon and ended in injuries. The accident occurred just after 2:45 p.m. on January 5.

According to official reports, a Chesterfield Police Department cruiser was involved in an accident with an undisclosed number of vehicles on Carriage Way Drive near Gratiot Avenue. The incident prompted authorities to close the intersection while assisting. One person requested MedSTAR to transport an injured victim to a local hospital for emergency medical care. Emergency officials remained at the scene extensively as they worked to reopen the roadway. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
