Detroit, MI (January 2, 2024) – One person has lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Monday morning in Detroit. At around 520 a.m. on January 1, emergency crews were called to the scene of an accident that occurred on Young Street.

Preliminary investigations show that a man was driving in the area of Young Street and Hayes Street during the early morning hours. For unknown reasons, he crashed his Chevrolet Tahoe into a tow truck. The individual who was getting their vehicle towed was standing outside near the tow truck and was struck by the vehicle. The victim was fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased by authorities. The tow truck driver was injured and transported to a hospital in the area. Police arrested the man as they believed that he was under the influence at the time of the accident. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
