Antrim Co., MI – Head-On Crash on US-31 at Old Dixie Hwy Injures Two

Antrim Co., MI (December 22, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Antrim County on Wednesday afternoon ended in injuries. Calls for help came in at around 2:54 p.m. on December 20.

According to reports from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post, a 2002 Jeep Liberty was heading southbound on US Highway 31. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2023 Freightliner truck. A 33-year-old man sustained severe injuries in the crash. He was airlifted from the scene and flown to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City for emergency care. The driver of the truck, a 66-year-old man, was injured. He was transferred by ambulance to McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey for emergency treatment. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
