Grand Rapids, MI (December 15, 2023) – A fire incident reported on Thursday in the Grand Rapid area left three people, including one firefighter, injured. The incident was reported just after 6:00 p.m. on December 14.
Local news sources indicate that a fire broke out inside a home located in the 500 block of Howard Street Southeast. Firefighters responded to the scene and began extinguishing the blaze. Upon arriving at the scene, at least one firefighter entered the home in an attempt to rescue people inside. One firefighter sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The firefighter and two additional victims, identified as a wheelchair-bound woman and one additional person, were all transported to area hospitals for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
