Detroit, MI (December 14, 2023) – At around 7:35 a.m. on December 13, Michigan State Police troopers were requested to provide assistance at the scene of a major collision that occurred in Macomb County. The accident took place on Lodge Highway.

According to official reports, MSP troopers were working at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the northbound side of Lodge Highway. As troopers remained at the scene, a red Avenger, which was stopped at the scene, was rear-ended by a Chevrolet SUV. The Avenger was then pushed into a third vehicle, which caused the third vehicle to strike a fourth vehicle on the road.

The driver of the Avenger, a 21-year-old, sustained severe injuries. The victim was administered CPR and rushed to an area hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
