In Michigan, driver distraction has contributed to a sharp increase in the rate of rear-end collisions. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that 40% of all car accidents in the United States occurred as a result of rear-end collisions in 2017, and these types of crashes are among the most frequently reported nationwide. They are also responsible for a substantial number of injuries and fatalities each year.
You should contact a lawyer as soon as you can after sustaining injuries in a car accident to begin your compensation claim. Your lawyer can help you with other important aspects of your claim, such as locating witnesses and interviewing anyone present at the time of the collision. Finding witnesses to back up your claims gets harder with time, and evidence like surveillance film from surrounding buildings can disappear or be completely destroyed.
Personal injury claims have incredibly strict filing deadlines, and your insurance provider can be underpaying your no-fault compensation. If a deadline is missed, you might not be able to file a claim for compensation, and you would effectively lose all future settlement rights. Your attorney will try to address your concerns and guarantee that these and other significant deadlines are met.
If you or a member of your family was hurt due to someone else's negligence, you might be entitled to compensation. When you bring a personal injury case, you can make sure that the party that was at fault is held accountable and that your damages are covered.
