Detroit, MI (November 12, 2023) - According to the Michigan State Police, three persons were hurt in a head-on accident caused by a vehicle going the wrong way on Interstate 94.
Just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 12, motorists called the Detroit Regional Communications Center to report a pickup truck traveling east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94.
A short time later, news came in of a head-on incident between a GMC pickup truck and a Ford Edge. According to the investigating troopers, the Ford was going west on Interstate 94 when it was hit head-on by the pickup truck. Firefighters from Detroit had to break into a Ford and free the trapped driver.
After suffering critical injuries, the motorist was taken to a nearby hospital.
The motorist who caused the accident was sent to the hospital for treatment of probable head injuries. The GMC's passenger also complained of discomfort and was taken to the hospital.
An investigation is still ongoing in the interim.
