Grand Rapids, MI (November 4, 2023) - A man was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday, November 3, in Grand Rapids, according to local authorities.
A northbound car on Kalamazoo Avenue at Amberly Drive SE hit the man around 7:00 p.m., Grand Rapids Police said in a news release. After that crash, two other vehicles collided with the first car from behind.
The man was brought to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver who struck the victim was arrested for operating while intoxicated, police said. She was not injured. Drivers of the second and third cars were also brought to the hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol was not a factor for them.
An investigation is still ongoing, though officers have not released further details in connection with the wreck.
