Trowbridge, MI (October 21, 2023) - On Friday morning, two cars collided in Trowbridge Township, and the driver of one of the vehicles, a 30-year-old woman from Lawrence, was killed.
Deputies say the 30-year-old woman was driving south on Michigan Highway 40 at 102nd Avenue and collided with a pickup vehicle for unknown reasons.
Several witnesses and, later, first responders attempted to rescue the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck's driver, a 71-year-old man from Gobles, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. The sheriff's office said on Friday afternoon that neither suspect's identity was being revealed until contact with relatives had been made.
Trowbridge Police Department officers and EMTs were on the scene, though the cause of the collision remains unknown.
Officers are currently looking into the incident at this time and asked any witnesses to come forward.
