Detroit, MI (October 5, 2023) - A major accident on Thursday morning, October 4, has both sides of Interstate 75 backed up at the Miller Road and Interstate 69 intersection.
The accident occurred at 6:55 a.m. on I-75, not far from I-69. There was at least one semi-truck and possibly additional vehicles. One southbound lane was available after I-69, and one northbound lane was open after Bristol Road as of 9:00 a.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. At 11:00 a.m., all directions of traffic were fully restored.
The northbound lanes were littered with shards of shattered concrete. According to the Flint Township Police Department, the collision caused a number of injuries. However, investigators have disclosed neither the number of drivers involved nor the nature of the victims' injuries.
An inquiry into the crash remains ongoing in the interim.
