Detroit, MI (September 28, 2023) - On Thursday evening, September 28, there was an accident in the Wayne County region of Detroit that left at least two people hurt.
Deputies and other emergency personnel were called to the area of eastbound Interstate 96 at around 9:40 p.m., according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. At least two people were involved in the incident, which shut down nearly all left and middle lanes of the highway after the transition ramp to Michigan Highway 39.
The total number of injured victims is unknown, but EMTs were spotted by news footage evaluating victims and transporting those with serious injuries to a hospital.
The accident remains under investigation, and the area remained closed for at least two hours while Wayne County deputies investigated.
