Detroit, MI (September 23, 2023) - Two separate car accidents early Saturday morning in Detroit resulted in the death of a man, according to the Michigan State Police.
The Michigan State Police report that both accidents happened simultaneously on southbound Michigan Highway 39, the Southfield Freeway, in Detroit, close to the I-96 interchange. Troopers received word of a rollover crash and the administration of CPR.
They found that a Jeep and a Chevy Malibu were involved in the first collision. Troopers have identified the female driver of the Jeep as being under the influence at the time of the crash.
A short time later, the male companion of the female Jeep driver came to the site of the first collision and parked his Dodge Charger behind the collision. He was hit and killed shortly thereafter.
Those who may have seen the collision on Saturday morning are encouraged to contact and inform investigators. An inquiry remains ongoing.
