Detroit, MI (September 18, 2023) - Four individuals were sent to the hospital after an early morning accident on Sunday, September 17, in Detroit.
The incident occurred between Fenkell Avenue and M-39 at about midnight, according to the officials. A trooper with the Michigan State Police was helping two drivers whose vehicle had broken down when their car was hit by a speeding vehicle, sending all three of them flying into the air.
The responding police officers arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with a possibly ruptured Achilles tendon and road rash from being pulled during the crash. The suspect motorist was also taken to the hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
